Past Projects involving ASPAC
The APEC Science Centre Impact Project (2004-2007)
This project invited science centres and museums, in all APEC economies, to participate in a three-year program of surveys, research studies, seminars and workshops to understand and enhance the impacts of science centres and museums across the APEC region through regional cooperation and networking.
In particular, the project obtained, analysed and shared data about the personal, community, economic and policy development impacts of science centres and museums, and captured and disseminated best-practice approaches across the APEC region. The results are available on the project website.
The IGLO Project (2007-2008)
Project IGLO (International action on GLObal warming) is a worldwide initiative of the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) to raise public awareness of climate change and its impact. ASPAC partnered with ASTC to support this International Polar Year initiative.
International Polar Year (IPY) was an internationally coordinated program of research in both polar regions which recognised the strong links these regions have with the rest of the globe. IPY aimed to educate and involve the general public, and to help train the next generation of leaders, scientists and engineers.
