Mission

Scitech logoScitech's mission is to increase awareness, interest, capability and participation by all Western Australians in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Description

Scitech is Western Australia's interactive science centre located in West Perth.

The centre hosts around 300,000 visitors per year and aims to inspire people of all ages to explore their world and to discover that STEM can be both understandable and enjoyable.

It is a venue that facilitates and develops a fascination for learning. Scitech achieves this by providing hands-on adventures of discovery with regular feature exhibitions, dynamic theatre shows, a working laboratory, and a 177-seat digital planetarium. The centre also hosts after-hours events and workshops as well as extension opportunities for school students and teachers.

Scitech’s reach and impact spans further than its West Perth base, with interactive STEM experiences delivered across the vast State of Western Australia to more than 200,000 people per year via its Statewide programs.

Scitech has established itself as an international leader in the design and manufacture of science centre exhibits and exhibitions and in 2013 and 2014 won the ASPAC Creative Science Exhibition awards. The centre has also been a winner of the Western Australia Industry and Export Awards in 2015 and 2016.

Many of Scitech’s major exhibitions tour to a range of venues throughout Australia and overseas. They cover a range of timeless STEM topics, have a broad appeal and communicate effectively beyond cultural differences.
